Privacy Policy

Asher House International is committed to being a good steward of God’s resources by maintaining the trust and confidence of donors. One way we can do this is by protecting any personal information that you entrust to us.

Information Collection

We collect information through the following interactions:

  • From visitors on our website interested in requesting information from us

  • From our online and offline (via mail, phone, or other) donations

The online and offline information that we collect includes name, address, city, state, zip code, telephone number, email address, and, in the case of online giving, credit card number and expiration date. In order to continuously improve your service and tailor our subsequent communications to you, we may also ask you to provide us with additional information regarding your demographics, comments, professional interests, and contact preferences.

How the Information is Used

AHI uses your information to understand your needs and provide you with better service. We may use your information to complete a transaction, issue you an income tax receipt for a donation, or personalize our website for you. If you agree to be contacted, we may also use this information to update you on ministry projects and activities. Credit card numbers are used only for donation or payment processing and are not retained for any other purposes.

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies on this site, for example, to keep track of your preferences and profile information. Cookies are also used to collect general usage and volume statistical information that does not include personal information.

We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. A session ID cookie expires when you close your browser. Although session cookies are established, they do not capture any behavioral or personal information, only information that is helpful to the user experience, such as whether the user’s browser has JavaScript capability. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies are being used to switch one-time messages on and off and to record form completion. You can remove persistent cookies by following the directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file.

If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but your ability to use some areas of our site will be limited.

Analytics / Log Files

As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, administer the site, track users’ movements around the site, and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

We do not link this automatically collected data to personal information.

Social Media Widgets

Our website includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook and Instagram button. These Features may collect your IP address, and which page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

Data Retention

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you services contact us using the Contact Information provided below. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

No Sharing of Personal Information

AHI never sells, rents, leases, or exchanges your personal information with other organizations or groups. The identity of all who contact us through this site and offline is kept confidential. Use of personal information will be limited to the internal purposes of AHI, to limited staff and only to further our ministry activities and purposes.

Security

AHI is committed to ensuring the security of your personal information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the proper use of information, we have established and implemented appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online and offline.

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If you have any questions about security on our website, you can contact us through our contact form. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our order forms, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

Transaction Security

The personal information collected when you make a contribution or purchase items by credit card is kept for the purposes of tracking your order and providing a receipt of the transaction. This information is stored on an encrypted, secure server managed by a third-party commercial credit card processing institution.
